This book is written as an informative and inspirational devotional that focuses on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. It’s filled with many of my personal stories, analogies, insights, and failures. Places in this book are raw, honest, and uncomfortably transparent (for me). I share with you the lessons I’ve learned and the lessons I’m still learning along my spiritual journey as a follower of Jesus for over 30 years.


This book is the fourth of four volumes. It’s laid out in such a way that it provides both a general overview of each chapter in John’s gospel as well as practical applications for daily living. Each chapter follows a similar format: (1) brief observations from the chapter, (2) unpacking one portion of scripture, (3) suggestions for an area of personal application, and (4) an honest prayer.


I’ve written this book with three kinds of people in mind. First, I want to inform the spiritual truth-seeker about the God of the Bible, and in particular, Jesus Christ. Second, I want to encourage those of you who find yourself in a season where you’ve grown tired and weary in your faith journey. I want to encourage you in God’s grace and truth as well as inspire you to follow Him anew. Third, I hope to challenge those of you who consider yourselves seasoned Christ-followers. I’m endeavoring to present Jesus to you in an authentic, relevant, prophetic, and biblically accurate manner. I hope you are stirred to deeper faith, stronger love, and full-hearted action. Living the God-life is a thrilling journey; one that is truly alive!
